A familiar person may take up the title of Green Lake’s new police chief as the search for a replacement for retiring Police Chief Mike Ratter comes to a close.

Current Sgt. Jason Reysen was recommended by the city of Green Lake’s Human Resources Committee last week Wednesday, following a round of interviews.

The search for a replacement began when Ratter announced during the December Green Lake City Council meeting that he will be retiring. His last day is Friday, Feb. 28.

According to City Clerk/Treasurer Barb Dugenske, the search began with a candidate pool of about a dozen interested applicants.

The number of candidates was whittled down over the last month to two finalists — Chad Holdorf and Reysen — who were interviewed by the Human Resources Committee last week Wednesday.
