History came alive last week Saturday evening at the American Legion Hall in Green Lake.

“Abraham Lincoln,” as portrayed by re-enactor George Busse, brought guests back to an early April day in 1865 — just days before Lincoln was fatally shot.

“Lincoln” retold stories from his life and gave a peek into the president’s mind-set, while also answering questions from the audience that ranged from family relations to political positions.

The event was held as a fund-raiser for the Princeton Public Library, which aims to greatly expand.
