A Princeton man has been charged with seven crimes, including three felonies, after a high-speed chase last week Thursday between Ripon and Green Lake.

Jeremy W. Kirst, 40, Princeton, was charged Monday in Green Lake County Circuit Court with a 10th offense operating while intoxicated (OWI), burglary and fleeing/eluding an officer — all felonies.

He also faces four misdemeanor charges: taking/driving a vehicle without consent, obstructing an officer, operating while revoked (third offense) and failure to install an ignition interlock device.

A Green Lake County Sheriff’s Department deputy attempted to pull over a 1998 GMC Sonoma Thursday morning around 2 a.m. along Highway 23 near Forest Ridge Road in the town of Brooklyn, just east of the city Green Lake.

The pickup truck attempted to flee the officer, and a pursuit ensued over Forest Ridge Road, Highway 23, through fields and into a marsh.

After running the vehicle into a ditch, a man — allegedly Kirst — ran through the marsh on foot with his dog.

Law enforcement eventually tracked him down to a home in Waushara County, where officers took him into custody.

No one was reported injured in the pursuit. Bond for Kirst was set at $50,000.
