Here's the latest updates, changes, cancellations and more related to COVID-19 for Monday, March 16. Check back for updates as they become available.

  • 9:50 pm: According to Mr. & Mrs. P's Eatery, "Due to the current state requirements as well as the federal recommendations, we will only offer delivery and pick-up service until further notice."
  • 9:45 pm: Many fast-food restaurants are now moving to drive-through service only. Culver's in Ripon, for instance, noted it was mandated to do so by the company by Wednesday, but that because employees over 50 are being given paid sick leave, it no longer had enough employees to offer anything more than drive-through service today.
  • 9:40 pm: With tips for employees dropping, Mugs Coffeehouse is inviting customers to support its employees with a "virtual tip jar" via Venmo.
  • 9:30 pm: The Bay-Lakes Council of Boy Scouting for America is postponing this year's Scouting for Food drive that typically occurs in April. "We will be working to inform our Food Bank and Pantry partners to the current postponement and new plans as we have them," according to a notice sent out today.
  • 9:30 pm: Starting tomorrow, Dollar General is asking shoppers to reserve the first hour of operations at its stores for senior citizens, who are most vulnerable to COVID-19. Additionally, all stores plan to close one hour earlier than current close times to allow employees to clean and re-stock store shelves, as well as for their health and well-being.
  • 9:30 pm: Ripon College has postponed all on- and off-campus college-sponsored events through May 15. "At this time, there has not been a decision made regarding Commencement (May 17) or Alumni Weekend (June 25-28)," the college said via a message released this evening. Meanwhile, the college also is inviting the public to contribute toward an Emergency Assistance Fund for the yet-to be-determined needs of students, faculty and staff. It also announced that news about the remainder of the semester at the college will be announced by the end of this week (March 20).
  • 2:25 pm: Ripon Medical Center has expanded its restrictions: "We are currently reviewing elective surgical and other procedures or annual well checks, and will be contacting patients directly if these are cancelled. Walk-in mammograms have been cancelled at Ripon Medical Center and Waupun Memorial Hospital. Endocrinology services have been cancelled for two weeks and will then be reassessed.
    Diabetic group classes are cancelled for one week and then will be reassessed. ID Services, Anticoagulation Management Services, Ambulatory Infusion and Home Infusion services will continue as usual. We will be working with patients who are uncomfortable seeking care. The gift shops at Ripon Medical Center and Waupun Memorial Hospital are closed until further notice."
  • Municipal court in Ripon has been canceled for this week: "Out of extreme caution regarding COVID-19, Lakeside Municipal Court session for Thursday, March 19, 2020 has been cancelled. If you wish to plead not guilty or have any questions, please email the court by 4:30pm Thursday, March 19, 2020: Please include your name, date of birth, phone number and citation number (if you have it). You will be notified of a pretrial date and time, which may also be done by phone or email. If you are not contesting your citation, the Judge will find you guilty and give you 60 days to pay.   • Ripon Public Library will remain open, but has suspended holds and extended due dates "to encourage the public to stay at home and self-quarantine."
  • Hillside Dental has closed for two weeks, effective immediately. Emergency procedures still will be performed.
  • Marcus Campus Cinema in Ripon will remain open but with seating limitations. The theater may be filled to no more than 50% of capacity, and not all seats will be available, to encourage social distancing.
  • A “mixer” for the downtown business improvement district scheduled for late March has been postponed.
