A Ripon High School senior has been accused of sexually assaulting a freshman classmate.

Lemuel Rodriguez, 18, 840 Metomen St. No. 8, was charged Monday in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court with sexual assault of a child under 16 years of age, distributing marijuana (less than 200 grams) to a minor and contributing to delinquency.

School staff reported the alleged incident to police last week after the victim, who is 14, informed a staff member that she and Rodriguez allegedly engaged in intercourse before winter break.

In an interview with police, the victim stated that the two students had a class together. They began conversing though social media, according to the criminal complaint, and decided to meet up.

The girl allegedly told police that they specifically discussed meeting to have intercourse.

On Dec. 21, Rodriguez and the victim allegedly met in the late afternoon and began walking the Northwestern Trail, beginning by Ripon Public Library.

According to the complaint, the victim told police that Rodriguez said “something to the effect of ‘Do you promise not to tell anyone?’” and that she thought he said that “because she had found out from a friend just before she met up with him that he was 18 years old.”
