By the end of the year, Ripon Medical Center will be run by a new organization.

“The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes (CSA), who is our current sponsor, and SSM Health, have now officially signed an agreement to transfer sponsorship,” said Holly Brenner, senior vice president for strategic development and marketing for Agnesian HealthCare. “We’re excited about this; it brings us one step closer to our ultimate goal of integration.”

Assuming no regulatory or other issues appear over the next few weeks, the process should be complete by the start of 2018.

Brenner emphasized that individuals served by Agnesian HealthCare should not notice any differences during this interim period.

“No immediate changes in anything ...,” she said. “We are committed to providing the same level of care that people have come to expect from us.

“This just brings us another step closer to that integration point and that’s what we’re shooting for.”

This is the penultimate step in a journey that began in early July.

At that time, St. Louis-based SSM Health — a Catholic, not-for-profit health system — and Agnesian HealthCare announced that acquisition talks were in process.
