Visitors to this weekend’s Dickens of a Christmas will be able to relive scenes from some of their favorite Christmas movies.

The runtime for the signature event of the festival, however, will be an hour shorter this year.

Living Windows, which features a “Hollywood Christmas” theme, will take place Saturday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in downtown Ripon. Last year, it went to 8:30.

According to Ripon Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jason Mansmith, the change was made due to declining participation during the final hour of the event, as well as the Wisconsin Badgers Big Ten Championship game against Ohio State.

Despite the shorter event, Mansmith is excited.

“There’s different amount of variables with it, but it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of great movies ... from your classic ‘Christmas Carol’ to ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Polar Express’ and a couple other great ones, too.”
