City of Ripon voters will have the chance to keep, or overturn, the majority of their elected officials next spring.

Five of eight members of the Common Council, as well as Mayor Gary Will, will be on the ballot for the Tuesday, April 3 spring general election.

Four aldermen’s terms are up this spring: Jim Werch in District 1, Joel Brockman in District 2, Howard Hansen in District 3 and Al Schraeder in District 4.

Meanwhile, District 1 Ald. John Splitt also will be on the ballot. He was selected to finish out the first half of former Ald. Todd Elliott’s term after Elliott moved out of his district this year. To retain the seat for the final two years, however, Splitt will need to be selected by voters within District 1.

Each may begin circulating nomination papers Friday; incumbents not planning on running for re-election have until Friday, Dec. 22 at 5 p.m. to file paperwork stating those intentions.

All other papers for candidacy are due by Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 5 p.m.
