Two Riponites are hospitalized following a head-on crash in the town of Waupun this evening.

   Brice Swick, 20, was flown by Flight for Life to Theda Care Regional Medical Clinic after he allegedly crossed the centerline of County Road M near Gallager Road and struck a vehicle driven by Krisann Koplitz, 62. She was transported by ambulance to Waupun Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

   Both were found pinned in their vehicles after emergency responders attended to the scene at about 5:30

   According to a press release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Department:

"At 5:26 p.m. on Saturday, December 02, 2017, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a head-on traffic crash on County Road M near Gallagher Road in the Town of Waupun. Evidence at the scene indicates that a vehicle traveling northbound on County Road M driven by a 20 yr. old Ripon area man crossed the centerline and struck a southbound vehicle head-on which was operated by a 62 yr. old female from Ripon.

"As a result of the crash, the Ripon area man received serious injuries and was taken by Flight for Life to Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah. The female operator was transported to Waupun Hospital by Life Star ambulance for treatment of her injuries. Both operators were pinned  in their vehicles and had to be extricated. Both operators were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Waupun Police Department, the Waupun Fire Department and the Brandon/Fairwater Fire Department. The crash remains under investigation."
