When David Knuth opened Knuth Brewing Company in April 2015 as a first-time entrepreneur, he had simple hopes.

“When you first open up, you kind of take that jump that you are going to open your business — I was just hopeful I would not have to sell my house to keep the doors open,” he said.

The business has done significantly better than that.

“We’re a year into it and things are going better than I ever thought they would have,” Knuth said.

The restaurant and brewery has become a downtown success story, and its beer sales have reflected it.

Utilizing its existing nano-brew system, Knuth Brewing Company produced about 100 barrels over the past year — and blew through them quickly.

“Literally, we would put a keg on and it’ll be a couple days and it will be gone,” Knuth said.

Now, Knuth Brewing Company is ready to take a big step forward.
