Some of the old cookie-baking equipment remains in place in the old Ripon Foods plant. More than half of the building soon will house Accurate Controls and warehouse space for Advanced Paper Enterprises.

Ripon’s largest vacant property is about to be filled by two growing Ripon companies that are owned by one Ripon family.

Accurate Controls has purchased Ripon’s original cookie factory known most recently as ConAgra’s Ripon West plant.

Though Accurate Controls is in the midst of a strong growth cycle, it won’t need the entire, massive space vacated in January 2016 when ConAgra shut down.

Some of the leftover space then will be utilized by Advanced Paper Enterprises which, like Accurate Controls, is owned by the Rogers family of Ripon.

The purchase will mean additional jobs as well as a face-lift for the aging facility along one of Ripon’s primary entrances into the community.

“We’re excited about this opportunity,” said T.J. Rogers, who owns Accurate Controls with his father, Tom.

Tom, meanwhile, added that he is “absolutely” happy that Accurate Controls has acquired such an important property in Ripon. “This building [provides the] ability for both of our companies — Advanced Paper and Accurate Controls — to grow.”
