So far, it appears incumbents will get a free ride to another term in local elections in April.

   With five Ripon Common seats on the ballot, the Ripon mayor position and three Ripon Area School Board posts available, only incumbents have indicated plans to run for office.

   “No, it’s just the three,” Ripon Area School District Business Manager J.J. Gutman said last week when asked if any challengers had filed. School Board members up for election in 2018 will be Nicole Kutz Menard, Andy Lyke and John Sperger.

    City Administrator Lori Rich confirmed the same at City Hall.

   Papers for candidacy are due by Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 5 p.m.
