When Ripon High School students returned to school Tuesday after the holiday break, they had one less classmate.

A student who had threatened to shoot eight of his classmates was not among them.

The student had been released from school grounds into the custody of a parent on Friday, Dec. 22.

When or if the student may return to school is unknown, as he faces disciplinary measures that Superintendent Mary Whitrock described as “up to and including expulsion.”

The student had told a classmate that he had a list of eight students he wanted to shoot but, after his name was turned in to the school office, he was removed from class and he and his parent were questioned by a team of school administrators and a police officer.
