It’ll be a scream.

Ripon High School (RHS) will present the new comedy-musical “The Addams Family” school edition, with book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, and based on the characters created by Charles Addams.

Evening performances will be held Thursday, Feb. 8 through Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. in the RHS auditorium, with a matinee performance to be held Saturday at 2 p.m.

Tickets will be sold at the door: $3 for students and $5 for adults.

“The Addams Family” musical currently is the No. 1 produced high school musical in the country. With an original story, it tells the tale of Wednesday Addams, who is grown and has fallen in love with a “normal” young man.

She tells of her love to her father, Gomez, who must keep this secret from his beguiling wife, Morticia. All of these hidden lies and half truths come to a climax as the young man’s “normal parents” join the Addams Family for an evening dinner of fun and games.

Find out more about the show in the Feb. 1, 2018 edition of the Ripon Commonwealth Press.
