The Ripon High School boys’ basketball team clawed its way back from one big deficit Tuesday.

It could not do it twice.

The Tigers fell behind visiting Kettle Moraine Lutheran 20-8 to begin the game, before cutting the deficit to 29-23 entering halftime.

They then were out-scored 18-9 to start the second half and couldn’t recover as they fell 63-49.

“We played with very little passion or energy for the first half of the first half. Then we put some things together and executed a bit and got some stops and rebounded and we cut it to as little as four,” Ripon head coach Steve Brooks said. “... And then we talked about some adjustments at halftime, came out flat again and pretty much rolled over from there.”

Ripon (5-7 conference, 9-11 overall) never got closer than 12 points after that, pulling its starters with a little less than three minutes left and the margin at 14.
