The Ripon High School Cheer and Stunt team competed at the Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches (WACPC) High School Cheer Championship Competition last week Saturday at La Crosse Civic Center.

All teams must first qualify during a preliminary round (finish in top half) in order to compete in the WACPC State High School Cheer Championships final round.

Ripon tied for fifth out of 10 teams during the preliminary round, enabling it to advance to the state round, where it earned a fourth-place finish in the small coed division. It was just .4 points away from third place.

“Despite multiple injuries throughout the season, the team really rallied together toward the end and did an amazing job,”

Ripon head coach Tami Conlon said. “We couldn’t be happier as coaches. Every member has made us extremely proud. Their dedication and hard work was evident during this event and it was a long but fun day full of excitement.”
