     Samantha Goodwin dreamt of visiting South Korea.

     “Going to Korea became a bucket-list item because I fell in love with the whole country,” said the self-professed fan of Korean TV dramas and K-pop music.

     So, when she heard that the Olympics was coming to Pyeongchang?

     “[I thought], ‘Two for one!’ It was a no-brainer,” Samantha said.

     The Ripon College academic support specialist just had to go.

     So she studied Korean for two years, saved her money and roped in a friend to make the trip, too.

     But nothing quite prepared Samantha for those first moments.

     “As you’re walking out from the ... tunnel from the plane ... there’s a  sign above the stairs and escalator with Lee Min Ho, which is one of the most famous actors in Korea,” she said of arriving in Seoul in early February. “Seeing his giant face ... was like, ‘Yup, I’m in Korea now.’” ...
