TO THE EDITOR:

On Jan. 18, 2018, the Lady Ripon Tigers traveled to Campbellsport for a conference basketball game. ...

I was on duty and stopped at the high school. At half time, I was at the concession stand ordering a sandwich and a beverage. The lady waiting on me said I owed $4.

As I went to pay her, a young man (student) wearing a Ripon Tiger sweatshirt, told the lady who had taken my order, “I would like to pay for the officer.”

I thanked him and politely declined his offer.

He insisted and said, “I want to pay in an effort to thank you for what you do.”

Normally I would not accept an offer like this. If it was an adult making the offer, I definitely would have declined, but I did not want to discourage the young man from offering this kind of respectful deed, so I let him pay. ...

At both the boys’ and girls’ basketball games in Campbellsport the last two weeks, the Ripon student body in attendance represented the Ripon community in a positive light. ...
