Brandon is best

Jeff Feucht holds the top award Brandon Meats received: the Product Show Excellence award.

Brandon Meats and Sausage’s owners have known their business sells the best meats in the area for a long time.

Now they’ve got the hardware to prove it.

Brandon Meats was honored with the Product Show Excellence Award earlier this month at the 72nd-annual convention of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors, held April 8 to 10 in Madison.

It was the first time the company won the award after entering the contest for decades.

Al and Janet Feucht, owners of Brandon Meats, earned the top honors by winning the most awards at the convention.

By earning grand championships in five categories and five more awards on top of those, Brandon Meats scored 40 points.

The next closest meat processor earned only 32.

The owners’ son, Jeff, who went to the convention with the father-son Brandon Meats employee team of John and Josh Benson, described the victory as “amazing.”

“The guy in charge said it’s usually a heated tie at 30 [points], somewhere in there,” Jeff said. “It ended up being a landslide.”
