'Spoon man' coming to library

On Wednesday, July 27, at 10:00 a.m., enjoy a mixed media storytime which explores the rhythms of the world. Children’s librarian, Linda DeCramer will share rhythmic stories, games and music encompassing the natural world, from the beating of our own hearts to the ebb and flow of the tides, as well as human-made musical patterns. Enjoy percussion performances by student musicians. For ages 4 to 104.

At 2:30, on Wednesday, July 27, the wild, whacky and wonderful “Spoon Man,” a.k.a. Jim Cruise, performs musical comedy for ALL ages. In his own words, “Come and get ‘SPOONED’ at the Ripon Public Library. It’s a lot better than getting forked, or knifed. Stop sitting around the house getting all tarnished up and come out and have some clean fun. It’s a stirring performance. You will eat it up. No bibs required. It’s a totally clean act – NO dirty silverware. Don’t miss this spoonful of family fun.”

The Spoon Man’s hilarious, interactive comedy show includes outrageous impressions of musical legends Glen Miller and Elvis Presley, as well as a broad stylistic range of music including rap, heavy metal and American traditional. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet the only man, walking the face of the earth today, who supports 5 children and a wife, and pays a mortgage, by playing the spoons.
