Pick ’n Save in Ripon once again treated its customers — as well as local businesses — for its “birthday” this month.

“We decided to give 26 local prizes away in honor of our 26 years in the Ripon area,” said Candie Baker of Ripon’s Pick ’n Save. “The drawing was a bucket raffle where customers could put their drawing slip into the bucket of the prize they wanted a chance to win.”

The promotion continued in-store for two weeks.

“We had a great response,” Baker said.

Prizes given away ranged from a washer-and-dryer set to gift certificates to local businesses.

“It was fun to hear the winner of the washer and dryer say hers was making funny noises,” Baker said. “The winner of the balloon ride proposed to his wife on the hot air balloon and put his slip in the bucket when he was in the store buying his wife’s birthday flowers!

“We wanted to create a win for our customers with some great but a little practical prizes. We also hoped to create a win with other businesses in town by promoting their products or services.”
