Veterans Day program held at RMS

Richard Zellmer speaks at the Veterans Day program at RMS.

Zellmer, a Ripon resident and retired teacher, explained that “While ceremonies and parades are a nice gesture,” they’re not the only way to honor veterans.

In fact, he said, they may not be the best way.

“An individual ‘thank you’ works every bit as well,” Zellmer said, explaining that people should go out of their way — on any day of the week — to express their appreciation to the men and women who have defended their country.
