A local effort is underway to write letters and send personal supplies to local troops now deployed. Donations can be dropped off at the Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce or the Ripon Area Chamber of Commerce by Dec. 11. The organizer says it's about patriotism, not politics. Collection underway for area soldiers

Area National Guard soldiers train for their deployment to Iraq this past spring. They are expected to return home in early 2010.
