TO THE EDITOR:
A picture of our colored trees at VandeBrink Produce made the local paper in the “Hearts and Darts” section on the editorial page. ...
We are a very small family business only open for six months of the year. ...
Quietly and without wanting recognition, we donate to many schools, churches, libraries, alumni groups, Santa club, 4-H, fire department and many more year after year. We also gave 20 free trees to family’s in need last year.
So to see a picture of our colored trees in the “Darts” section was quite a disappointment. ...
Last year was our test year selling them. We sold 30 colored trees in our first week. This year we had orders for colored trees in August.
Everyone can have their own opinion about what color a Christmas tree should or shouldn’t be.
We have 400 traditional green trees too. We strive to please all our customers.
We’ll continue selling both options because we love seeing our customer’s faces light up when they get their tree. Like the little girl that got a purple princess tree, a UW-Wisconsin family that picked out their red Badger tree and a daughter who took home a pink tree to honor her mother who passed from breast cancer.
