TO THE EDITOR:

(Re: “Council should level with taxpayers about potential downtown development,” Oct. 20, 2016) I would like to thank Tim Lyke for the informative article and editorial concerning the new Hotel Project proposed by Lighthouse Hospitality Group.

From the information provided it sounds like the Lighthouse Hospitality Group has done their homework on the building site, costs, income potential and has put a lot of time and effort into this project.

Best of all, they are experienced in hotel projects and management. Their plan is to give the building a vintage look so it blends with the historic nature of the downtown district.

This is just the type of project that could be a turning point for our downtown. ...

If this developer loses interest and moves on, it will be the fault of the council. This project should go forward.
