My letter to the editor printed in the Feb. 25, 2010 issue of the Ripon Commonwealth Press was based on information contained in a press release from the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.

My purpose in writing the letter was to inform the community about DATCP’s public listening session concerning their rule 51 relative to the siting of large livestock operations.

However, I immediately felt uncomfortable when I saw the headline placed over my letter, as this was not the heading I had placed on my letter. ...

I sincerely hope that as time goes by, we (and yes, even the cows!) will have an opportunity to maintain the quality of life that we value.
