To the editor:
(Re. “Bomb threat made at RC,” April 24, 2014) On Tuesday morning, April 21, my worst fears were nearly realized. A bomb threat was announced at my alma mater, Ripon College. One day after the anniversary of the death of our family friend’s daughter, Lauren, along with all those precious souls at Columbine High, and days after the anniversary of the massacre at Virginia Tech, where I stood just a short time ago, it was unreal ...
... I prayed fervently for the professors, mentors and friends that I still have at the school. ... In 2007, when VA Tech was forever changed and I was a Ripon College junior, I used to surmise what I would do to protect my school.
All those thoughts came flooding back today. And the truth is, you can never fully prepare to face that horror until it happens. ...
