TO THE EDITOR:
The City Council of Green Lake is proposing to eliminate the restrictive R district (the lakeshore residences of the city of Green Lake) in favor of a new ordinance allowing weekly rentals in both R-1, a much less restrictive district, and R.
... Residents of R district want to remain an R district and keep the present ordinance, which has been challenged recently and met the challenge.
A property was sold, the buyer started short-term rentals, neighbors complained, he was ordered to stop — he did! He was given the opportunity to appeal — he didn’t!
Why is the council insisting on forcing this new ordinance upon us? ...
