To the Editor:

... Last year, the Red Cross responded to 972 disasters in Wisconsin providing immediate relief for families across the state.

This summer, we need the public’s help to avert another, more personal, kind of disaster which can happen to any of us at any time if we need blood and it’s not available.

Currently, blood donations are on the decline. Residents in the Ripon community have a proven history of supporting patients in need.

In the last five years, more than 1,100 pints of life-saving blood have been collected at the Ripon community blood drive, benefitting patients in Wisconsin and across the country.

On June 20, local residents will have another opportunity to help save lives.

Give the gift of life at the Ripon community blood drive held on Wednesday, June 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Mount Zion Lutheran Church located at 320 Mount Zion Drive.
