To the Editor:

Are you concerned about soaring inflation, rent increases, credit card debt, and a falling stock market?

For many of us — our entire retirement — is riding on the stock market. A CNBC survey finds 81% of U.S. adults are worried about a stock market crash.

Inflation is not because of “Putin’s price hike” – the war in Ukraine – or greedy businesses raising prices each week. Over the last two years alone the Fed has printed 80% of the dollars in existence today.

The Federal Reserve is a group of unelected officials who literally owns our entire financial system. It’s America’s central bank.

Biden is issuing a new Executive Order, calling for the highest urgency in the U.S. to digitalize the dollar. And it’s not just The U.S. — this is worldwide.

Former U.S. Representative Dr. Ron Paul says: “The cashless society is their dream: total knowledge of, and control over, the finances of every single American.”

CNN noted that “digital currencies can be programmed to be spent in a certain way — say for food and medical supplies, but not for cigarettes or alcohol. And there is reason to fear that CDCs will become a convenient way for authoritarian governments to monitor individual citizen transactions.”

The new Central Banking Digital Currency could phase out our national banks.

Is America free if a private bank owns and controls our economy?

Do you miss having a president who believed in secure borders, energy independence, and always putting America first?

Sallie Helmer… “What you are witnessing is Biden being finished by his own people. Democrats are dumping Biden. Biden is done!”

If you’re confidant in that pronouncement, hold your breath until it happens

Dale Failor

If democrats dump Biden, its because they are smart enough to see greener pastures unlike republiCONS.

Hi David,

Willie Brown admits it: Kamala Harris slept her way to the top

By Monica Showalter

“ Kamala Harris, that vaunted self-righteous feminist candidate who's using her 'year of the woman' chops to challenge President Trump in 2020, has a little problem: She slept her way to the top.

You know, the mistress thing, not exactly moving on up based on hard work or merit, that little advantage of good looks (President Obama called her the 'best-looking' state attorney general), employed to their optimal practical use. Her political patron, former lawyer to pimps, Mayor of San Francisco, and State Assembly Speaker Willie Brown, admitted he helped her get her political start, writing in his bloggy San Francisco Chronicle column:”

David Perkins

Saliie, you foxy vixen did you read the whole "blog" that you linked?Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.

"And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco. I have also helped the careers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, and a host of other politicians."

At least Willy Brown is a fluid gender sleeper...he also, obviously, slept with Diane Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, and Gavin Newsome! I think it really is called networking. You truly aren't very smart, are you? So sorry.

Sallie Helmer

Bill Bumby

You must be referring to trump… Classless, rude and a bully…eapecially to women

David Perkins

This a quote you should take to heart, my dear.

Dale Failor

Sallie, as far as staying silent, I am like a church mouse compared to you being like a rock band in a telephone booth.

Al Fresco

Helmer hasn't figured this out yet. It's best to remain silent and wonder what one is thinking than to speak and then everyone knows you cannot think.

Bill Bumby

Regarding Helmer’s assertion that there was some sort of impropriety regarding Willie Brown and Kamala Harris…Willie Brown had been separated from his wife for over a decade when they dated. Their relationship was completely out in the open. Helmer is rather judgemental and priggish

Bill Bumby

Yet, she’s perfectly fine with her guy saying, “I just grab them by the …..”. Get over yourself, hypocrite!

Dale Failor

She is fine with that because her God said it.

Adam Umbreit

Change...YES! change is very hard, but probably the biggest problem Republicans have is they like to keep everything "the way it was" and do not like change. We see this so often right here in this Republican Green Lake County stronghold where nothing ever changes, and we keep feeding this vicious cycle of Republicanism going nowhere. Meanwhile, every state around us (Democrat stronghold states) keep blowing Wisconsin out of the water with faster growing economies, far better paying jobs and far more top fortune 500 companies who want to invest in those economies yet here we sit with the great Republican FoxConn job.

Sallie and like most of her Republican supporters keep blaming inflation on the entirely wrong reasons, instead of actually investigating and reading about why inflation is so high. History shows a far different picture than of Sallies continued baseless rants. Democrats historically have far better records of boosting economies than any Republican led economy in our nation’s history. The only exception to this was Ronald Reagans reign which is why Republicans continue to boast his name being it was all they have to brag about and that was a different place in time.

Bottom line, Trump over-bloated our economy during his terror reign and now the economy is checked and needs to be balanced back out. Majority of folks who are complaining are retired boomers who have seen their portfolios check back to where they really should be without a bloated economy. Sure, products cost far more than they used to but that’s because massive loss of workers (boomer retirements) higher wages, and companies cannot produce goods as quickly, cheaply as they used to and the supply chain has changed drastically.

Al Fresco

And don't forget trump's tariffs on various commodities. Who pays for the tariffs? Why, the consumer, of course. Tariffs never hurt companies but they certainly affect the prices we all pay for consumer goods.

Adam Umbreit

Absolutely! This is one of the big to-do's for Biden this term as I have read. Trump's tariffs have severely damaged our economy. Sallie conveniently forgets about these other yuge Trump policies which blew up the cost of goods.

Sallie Helmer

The Fed is raising interest rates to deter lending (to cause borrowing to cost something).

Jerome Powell keeps peddling the narrative that supply chains are the cause of inflation. The truth is there's only one reason for inflation, and that's printing money without increased economic output.

The so-called experts are doing everything but mentioning this key detail. Instead, they point to supply chains, the pandemic, oil, and various other things. All of these things influence free-market pricing, but none of them directly affect the dollar's value.

If raising rates is the answer to inflation - reiterated several times by Powell - and is what brings inflation back under control, why would the Fed do such a thing? When the answer, according to some "experts," is to simply increase the supply of goods? The answer for rates would then be to keep them low and dole out as much lending as possible to expand the supply of key commodities and goods.

If the supply chain is what causes inflation, then the answer is more supply. If more supply is the answer, then more lending is the answer. If more lending is the answer, the lowest interest rates possible is the solution.

If supply chains are the sole reason for higher inflation, then simply let them borrow as much as they need to expand supply. The answer should be to print more in the twisted logic of the experts!

It has been the answer - and failed.

The US Federal Reserve started printing money at the onset of the COVID pandemic to provide stimulus checks to every American and other relief efforts. This occurred in April 2020, December 2020, March 2021, and December 2022. These packages varied in size, with the first in March 2020 at $2.2T the 2021 bill signed into law at $1.9T, and the $1.5 trillion 2022 Omnibus Appropriations bill. These packages and acts were not funded with balanced budgets and taxes.

Since we know inflation lags money printing by anywhere from 12 to 23 months. Inflation will continue its upward pressure because we haven't seen the end of the lagging effects from 2021-2022.

Once again Sallie posts a copy and paste post with proper attribution. RCP you really should reconsider letting her to post. She doesn't understand copyright and original thought.

Michael Shohoney

Without, not with.

Al Fresco

A ripon housewife with an Internet connection does not make one an expert. What is your purpose other than to see your name in print?

Sallie Helmer

My purpose is to make you understand how wrong you are about politics. The reason I have to repeat myself is simple. You are brainwashed and for you, it isn't working. Others read this and they can learn from the debate.

Al Fresco

Thanks, Helmer, you just made my point.

Adam Umbreit

Sallie, I am sure that the entities who are in charge of our economy probably know more about it than you do. Inflation has already fallen, fuel has fallen, wages are slightly up, unemployment rate is at its lowest levels ever so why all the gloom and doom Sallie? Still angry that it took 15 votes to find a leader in your severely damaged unamerican political party?

Sallie Helmer

What happened on Capitol Hill is healthy and long overdue. The mainstream media's description that this Speaker's vote has been dangerous and chaotic isn't true. Reasonable people understand that some compromise is necessary with a divided government.

An open border is dangerous; spending bills passed with no debate and rammed through Congress with no time to read them is dangerous. The $1.7 trillion Ominous spending bill did a lot for every entrenched Washington interest but did nothing for average American voters.

Conservatives now have a stronger voice to make meaningful changes.

Michael Shohoney

Sallie, do you do Peloton? Because you're spinning awfully hard.

Al Fresco

Michael, the only exercise she seems to enjoy is running at the mouth or jumping to conclusions.

Michael Shohoney

Sallie, Sallie, Sallie. Once again so misinformed. You really need to expand your list of sources. Who am I kidding, you'll never change and you'll always wear the wingnut blinders. Read this and weep! Biden is kicking butt!

Sallie Helmer

Biden’s Economy

Biden knows he wrecked the economy by deliberately surging oil prices in pursuit of the Left’s utopian green nightmare.

The public was once told that Biden and the Left wanted high energy prices.

Why else did Biden upon entering office cancel the Keystone XL pipeline?

Biden issued fewer new energy leases on federal lands than any prior president.

He fulfilled his green promises to the radical environmentalist Left by shutting down oil fields in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Didn’t Biden brag to the Left that he kept his campaign promises to strangle fossil fuels—both curbing supply and spiking prices—to hasten the “transition” to wind, solar, and batteries?

Crime is out of control. The southern border is wide open. Biden has waged war on energy production and deliberately spiked gas costs. Foreign policy is in shambles. Racial relations are scary.

Yes, please, Americans want more of this. Thanks, Joe Biden.

'If You Really Wanted to Destroy the United States, Then . . .

It would be hard to imagine any planned agenda to destroy America that would have been as injurious as what we already suffered the last two years.'

By Victor Davis Hanson

Dale Failor

Sallie, have you ever heard the song "Silence Is Golden"? It certainly is.

Bill Bumby

Good one, Dale! You phrased it much more delicately than the way I was contemplating 😁

Sallie Helmer

If "Silence Is Golden" please explain why you don't stay silent.

Al Fresco

And I thought my fruitcake was nutty...

Jerald Davidson

Al: Excellent analogy.

David Perkins

Crime is out of control. (no, actually, it is not)The southern border is wide open.(ah...nope) Biden has waged war on energy production and deliberately spiked gas costs. (nope, not that either) Foreign policy is in shambles (ask the Ukraine people). Racial relations are scary. ( only to old white people). There...just some truth editing. :>)

Sallie Helmer

Biden surrendered our prior energy independence. Biden blocked pipelines like the Keystone oil pipeline, on day one of his regime, and the Constitution natural gas line.

Biden drained the strategic petroleum reserve to make the pain for consumers more bearable for midterm election advantage.

Giving a false sense, gas prices are going to stay low, playing politics with our national security.

Michael Shohoney

No, Sallie, he didn't. You are so misinformed. Please read some accurate information. P. S. The Keystone XL pipeline has ZERO.... ZERO to do with current energy. The fact that you bring that up shows a level of ignorance that is unimaginable.

Joellyn Jaeger

Sallie, the Keystone Pipeline is Canadian owned. It has nothing to do with the USA other than crossing our land and having the oil refined in Texas before being shipped overseas. We get NOTHING from it. There are better jobs out there with Biden's infrastructure plans, which will benefit our own citizens. You are factless.

Sallie Helmer

Biden Admin. Report Admits Canceling Keystone Pipeline Cost U.S. Up to 59,468 Jobs, $9.61 Billion in GDP

Biden used an executive order to cancel the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline because it wasn’t “consistent” with his climate agenda:

“The Biden administration finally owned up to what we have known all along—killing the Keystone XL pipeline cost good-paying jobs, hurt Montana’s economy and was the first step in the Biden administration’s war on oil and gas production in the United States,” Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) said in his statement. January 5, 2023

Jerald Davidson

Michael, unfortunately, Biden is not kicking butt. He is a butt. His list of broken campaign promises is even longer than Obama's. who set the record.

Bill Bumby

I suppose I should probably stop waiting for trump’s “beautiful health care plan” and that giant check from Mexico to pay for the billions of dollars of border wall trump had built, huh?

Al Fresco

If you think digitizing the dollar is a bad idea, then perhaps a return to bartering is what will keep you happy. Imagine bartering chickens and apples for services. The real problem will be when the Democrats by executive order digitize poulty and fruit.

The year has just begun and you are already unhappy with how things are going. I hope you can make it until the end of 2023 without getting your undies all in knots.

Carol Cate

Always good for a laugh, Ms. Helmer!

"For many of us — our entire retirement — is riding on the stock market". If you're in retirement you should remember that the market fluctuates and it could be a gamble. The ultra low interest rates of the past few years actually penalized people who wanted to save as the rate of return was so low on CD's. Spare us your talking points Sallie, at least for a few weeks. Trump 20-24 Years In Federal Prison!

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced he has named former U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland Robert Hur as a special counsel in the Biden classified documents matter. Hur, who has been appointed by former President Donald Trump as U.S. Attorney, is currently a litigation partner at a Washington, D.C. law firm.

Attorney General Merrick Garland can't indict Trump because he would have to indict Biden. This is a gift to Trump.

Biden Classified Doc Scandal Explodes - White House Gets Devastating News

Michael Shohoney

This post is so laughable! Biden invited the investigation. His attorneys found the document s, notified the Justice Department and turned over the documents (a dozen versus hundreds) immediately. Trump refused to turn them over. Shall I go on? Trump is DONE!

Michael Shohoney

Yes, I want Biden investigated for this too. I assume that you do too. Trump too? If you want Biden investigated then you better want Trump investigated too. Otherwise, you're a hypocrite. And, if either or both are guilty of a crime, I want them prosecuted. Then neither would be able to hold office. Kamala Harris would be president then. You're on board with this, right?

Sallie Helmer

The Biden investigation will not end anytime soon. Finding the Classified Documents, when Biden was a Vice President, is just the 'tip of the iceberg' for the Biden Crime Family. 2023 is the year of the whistleblower-- someone who knows where the 'bodies are buried' is turning on Biden.

Who in their right mind wants 'Heels up Harris' to be president?

Donald John Trump is far from done. Democrats know it.

Donald J. Trump

Sallie, to call a successful, smart woman who graduated from a good university and achieve a doctorate, worked herself up through the prosecutor ranks in California to become the District Attorney of San Francisco (yup, she did have an affair with Willy Brown, but that did not get her the job...and, hurray for a sexually active woman, DJT sure brags about his prowess) and became the Vice President of the United States "heels up Harris" is simply disgusting. You, therefore, are disgusting. I would never think a "Christian" person would use those terms...but, I have found that religious folks are more prone to sexually repressive thoughts. Plug something in, why don't you.

Bill Bumby

One is hardly like the other, Sallie… I also find it hilarious that, all of a sudden, Republicans give a hoot about classified documents

Bill Bumby

Sallie’s guy, donald john trump, has five children from three different women. He cheated on all three of those wives. Including his last wife with an adult film star while his wife was still breast feeding his last child. For her to moralize about the behavior of anyone else while worshiping this guy is rather odious

Sallie Helmer

What you are witnessing is Biden being finished by his own people. Democrats are dumping Biden. Biden is done!

Will it split the Democrat Party and potentially elect Donald Trump president?
