TO THE EDITOR:

(Re: “Gatekeepers can’t shirk responsibility,” July 29, 2021) Tim, glad to see you are using your writing skills, but I have to differ with you a bit.

I’m in Show Low, AZ, a rural community. We recently had “super-spreader” event at local dance hall were some 70 people attended -- most over 60 and nearly all vaxxed. A live singer(in her 70’s and vaxxed) had covid and ended up infecting some 20 people. 2 fully vexed people ended up dying — you can see the article in the Arizona Republic (phx paper.)

So please don’t continue to spread ill conceived idea that unvaxxed are problem.

Having been in research at university I know that lots of info is not being released for our review. As math guy I like raw data because you can skew numbers many different ways. Fully vaxxed are spreading and killing vaxxed people also. Maybe time has come to use 1st amendment and release all info. But do not restrict our rights to information as it seems the media is and continues to do.

I can tell you that more they (Joe Joe Depends and Nancy) seek to vilify unvaxxed people will only continue to cause distrust among smart people of this country.

BTW, be sure you know wear mask per CDC requirements. I wear mask to protect me from vaxxed people.

Bob,

No one said that vaccinated folks would not get sick if exposed, nor have they ever said they can’t spread it. They just said, if you are vaccinated the chances of surviving greatly increase, and by getting vaccinated you are helping to knock down the virus so it slows the mutations which infect and overwhelm hospitals!

I see the problem in full view and have seen it many times with our older generations and under-educated. Many of you do not know how to sort real news from bad. You also don’t know how to operate and maintain your internet devices to keep the garbage from continually filling the holes in your internet search engines. This is no fault of your own, but just a generational gap of how-to knowledge.

Every smart phone, iPad and computer with an internet search engine is designed to continually send you information as you search for it. They are called “Tracking Cookies”. For instance, if you are looking up Fox News or visiting a lot of right-sided websites which we all know many of you boomers do, your search engines are designed to continually track and feed you that kind of information every time you search. If you clear your cookies, cache and search history often, or if you use Google Chrome, all you need to do is set your browser settings to “incognito mode” this will eliminate the cookies and tracking feature. If you really know what you are doing you can set up a VPN like “PIA” to avoid this problem all together. A really big thing now is when you visit a sight they are constantly asking you that if you ant to continue you need to accept their cookies. DON’T DO IT!

So, you see when people sit there and blame the media what they really should be doing is learning more about how to avoid cookies on their devices and getting EDUCATED on what real journalism is, and the fact that stations like Fox News which is actually an entertainment opinion news channel with reporters, not journalists. Probably why Fox has never been awarded any real journalistic award outside of Chris Wallace one time. That is a fact.

Who's responsible for the bad grammar in this letter? Calling the unvaccinated the intelligent people of our society a sick joke. Donnie depends (has a much better ring to it) is the one who has made this all such a ridiculous circus. He lied about covid from the beginning. He lied about how sick he was when he had it and how close he came to dying. And instead of backing the vaccine he took himself he spread more conspiracy theories to try and stay president. Luckily for all of us he failed at that just like his casino, his meat company and his college all bearing his name. Not to mention his tax fraud and scamming charities.
