To the editor:
Since writing Representative Ballweg on November 18th I’ve heard nothing so hopefully, this Letter to the Editor will stir some fruitful conversation.
Yesterday I got a nice note from Ben K. in your office who wrote, “... The governor announced a bill a few moments ago and the speaker of the assembly will be announcing a package of legislative initiatives to help slow the spread of COVID-19 at a 2:00 press conference today. Representative Ballweg will be reviewing these bills and considering all options.”
You probably had the opportunity to listen to Speaker Vos and by now, you may have read the Milwaukee Journal’s editorial.
1. Is the Journal’s assertion that the state assembly “...offered up nothing...” true and if not, what was offered up?
2. As an elected member of the assembly, soon to be a state senator and a member of the community that voted you back to Madison on election day, are you okay with the way COVID is being handled by the Wisconsin state Legislature? If you are okay, why is that?
3. If you are not okay with the way COVID is being handled in Wisconsin please tell me, what options are you considering?
Please give me something that explains what the representatives and senators in Madison are doing to validate their constituents’ trust and to continue being paid.
Thank you so much,
