To the editor:

At the risk of being ostracized by the local powers-that-be, I want to ask Tim Lyke a question about his nearly weekly opinion rant about “leadership” and mask wearing. My question is “ when are you going to stop?”

A Ripon friend pointed out to me the his town (the town I grew up in) has 7% of the population of Fond du Lac County. Yet Ripon has 33% of the current Covid 19 cases in the county. Perhaps, what you call “shaming” can stop when everyone accepts the fact that this isn’t some lunatic fringe QAnon conspiracy theory and masks up. This virus is real. It killed my brother.

Donna, I think the proven Covid 19 explosion we are currently witnessing should be enough evidence that shamming should be in place. Shame on everyone who does not wear masks to protect their fellow citizens! Shame on those local businesses who do not follow state mandated laws put in place to protect their very own customers!

Maybe when people take this pandemic seriously and put the health of others over self.

Dear Donna, hopefully never!
