To the editor:

This last weekend, we surpassed the total number of Americans killed in action during WWII: 420,000 vs. 416,800.

WWII lasted approximately 45 months for the U.S. The first coronavirus death was a year and a week ago. I can only wonder if that Greatest Generation would have been as resistant to the call for unity and action as this current generation has been to taking common-sense measures to prevent the spread of this virus that you would be reading this in German or perhaps Japanese or if you would be allowed to read this at all. Think about it.
