To the editor:
(Re: “Lessons of Lester: What Schwartz teaches us through the palette of life,” Oct. 24, 2019) I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your editorial on Lester Schwartz.
It gave me a chuckle as I had an uncle that worked for Lester’s father at the foundry in Manitowoc.
He told me how they would laugh at little Lester coming to the foundry and doing stuff with the scrap. They questioned if Lester would amount to anything in his life.
My uncle was thrilled to be able to visit Lester’s garden in Green Lake.
Your editorial showed how important it is that we create the world from what we have in our lives.
