Workers at Ripon’s largest employer Monday approved a six-year contract that extends through February 2017.
Alliance Laundry Systems’ 922 members of United Steelworkers Local No. 1327 “overwhelmingly” approved an agreement that includes “modest” pay increases each year, union president David Page said. He declined to give specific pay hike percentages, though characterized them as less than 5 percent.
The contract also includes an increase in employees’ share of their monthly health-insurance premium, although Page added that the out-of-pocket cost remains below the national union shop average.
Other language in the contract that union members OK’d “over 4-to-1” included improvements in overtime and bereavement pay, Page said.
