Yet another student is poised to be expelled from the Ripon Area School District.
This would be the fourth such expulsion this year alone. Since this past April, two students have been expelled for alleged drug activity, while a third has been expelled for allegedly bringing a knife to school.
This is in addition to the three students who were expelled last year in connection with alleged drug activity at Ripon Middle School.
An agenda for a special Ripon Area School Board meeting tonight (Wednesday) explains how the board will convene in closed session “to consider recommendations for expulsion of one pupil of the district, to deliberate with regard to such matters, and to consult with legal counsel with regard thereto.”
More information on this latest case will be available after tonight’s meeting, with Superintendent Mary Whitrock saying “it would not be appropriate for the District to release information regarding an expulsion prior to the proceedings.”
