Auditions planned for 'Alice in Wonderland'

Auditions for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Alice In Wonderland” will be held Monday, Jan. 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thrasher Opera House in downtown Green Lake.

Available will be roles for students kindergarten through 12th grade.

Approximately 50 to 60 local students will be cast to appear in the show. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play.

Students wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled starting time and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 15 to 30 minutes after the audition.

This is a group audition. No advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts. Students should just be ready to come and have a good time.

Rehearsals will be conducted every day from 4 to 6 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Thrasher.

Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role.

A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition. Cast members scheduled for the full 4 1/2 hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack lunch, dinner or snack.

Two performances will be held Saturday, Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. and at 7 p.m. and will be presented at Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake. The students in the cast will be called for dress rehearsal before the performance that day.

All those cast must be available for all scheduled performances.

The residency at Thrasher is supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the state of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts and the Green Lake County/Ripon Area Community Foundation.

Additional sponsorship provided by the Green Lake Bank, Wallenfangs of Green Lake, Kiwanis Club of Green Lake and Rural Mutual Insurance of Green Lake. Accommodations provided by The Bay View Motel.

Ticket prices for the performances are $12 for adults and $8 for students and available online at, at the Thrasher office or by calling 294-4279.
