Two prominent Ripon business people told a roomful of area folks to go to Berlin last week.

Specifically, to 344 Broadway St., the newly built home of The Boys & Girls Club of the Ripon Area.

“If you haven’t had a chance to visit the club in Berlin, I highly recommend you take a trip over and see for yourself what the Boys and Girls Club is doing for our community,” said Drew Diedrich, new board member of the group and president of Diedrich Insurance.

Diedrich, along with Lee Baird, owner of Baird, Inc., briefly talked to about 160 guests last week Thursday at the club’s annual Steak & Burger event in the Great Hall of Ripon College’s Harwood Memorial Union.

The event raised more than $21,000.

At Steak & Burger, adults eat hamburgers while “honored guests,” the club’s children, eat steak.
