New tanks double Knuth’s brewing capacity

David Knuth stands with the new tanks at his business.

David Knuth recalls how excited he was when he first took over the restaurant that would become Knuth Brewing Co., 221 Watson St.

“That first year we probably did 80 or 90 barrels of beer, and that was [sold] strictly out of here,” he said, of 2015.

Then, about a year and a half ago, the success of the business enabled the brewing company to install its first substantial brewing system.

He was ecstatic, noting back in 2016 that “We’re a year into it and things are going better than I ever thought they would have ... This is kind of like a dream come true.”

That new system enabled him to produce about 300 barrels.

Now, just three years into the business’s existence, it’s time to expand production capacity once again.

“Then this past couple weeks, we just put in three more big tanks, which will double our capacity again,” Knuth said, noting this will enable him to offer nearly 600 barrels a year. “I thought this would be the ultimate dream, to have what we have now. It would be just awesome.”

Now it’s reality.
