The DNR continues to work on its decision regarding Rosendale Dairy’s request to modify its existing wastewater permit so that it can double the number of cattle on its property.
The DNR is considering responses to concerns raised, and expects to be able to complete its notification by the end of the month.
It will come almost two months after a public hearing was held at Royal Ridges, in which hundreds of supporters and opponents to the dairy turned out.
If the request is granted, Rosendale Dairy will become the largest dairy in the state. It hopes to house 8,000 milking cows and 300 steer.
The dair is located off County Road M between Pickett and Rosendale.
