Another student has been expelled from the Ripon Area School District due to drugs.
This action follows the May 5 expulsion of another student who allegedly had drugs at school, and the April 18 expulsion of a student who allegedly had a knife at school.
Last spring, two other students were expelled for possession of drugs as well.
Last week Wednesday, members of the Ripon Area School Board met in closed session and expelled the third student this spring, this time for possession of drugs, Superintendent Mary Whitrock confirmed.
“The board did determine that the student is eligible for early readmission with conditions second semester next year before the expiration of the respective expulsion,” she said. “An expulsion decision and conditions are determined based upon the specifics of each situation. They are intended to create a balance between protecting others while also assisting the student in learning from the mistakes made. The district takes matters involving drugs at school very seriously and did in this case resulting in the expulsion of a student.”
