Fun, families & hairy armadillos: Kiwanis hosts Children's Fair

Dedra Springston, right, reaches up to touch a hairy armadillo that visited the Children’s Fair.

Where could you find a hairy armadillo in Ripon last week Saturday? How about a creeping chameleon, or a walking wallaby?

At the Ripon Noon Kiwanis Children’s Fair, held annually in the Barlow Park Elementary School gym and cafetorium.

With a visit from Zoozort, the fair gave children and families a chance to get up close and personal with some exotic animals they might not otherwise meet.

The fair also included plenty of games, a bouncy castle, balloon animals, face painting, a visit from Rony the police dog and a chance for parents to learn more about local organizations.
