Lumen Charter High: Under Construction

Three openings can be seen in a wall at Ripon High School as one wing of the school prepares to become Lumen Charter High.

Lumen Charter High School is in the final phase of preparations as the high school open house looms Tuesday, Aug. 30.

The final staff listing has been set and is as follows: Paul Wiegel (English), Sara Ullmer (science), Linda Kinziger (math), Bill Kinziger (social studies), Sheri Schmidt (business), Kat Griffith (economics, social studies, science), Tracy Landerman (physical education) and Christine Skoog (home/school/community liaison and advisor).

In addition to teacher and curriculum items, the school space itself is currently under construction. This includes taking out a temporary wall and slotting window openings in two others to make one cohesive classroom in what used to be four individual rooms.

Lumen summer activity:

June 20-24 — Linda and Bill Kinziger attended the National Charter School Conference in Atlanta, Ga.

July 11-15 — Lumen staff training with Renee Ulman, place-based learning expert, who also teaches at Appleton Career Academy. Met with a number of businesses in the community to set up partnerships for learning; began the creation of seminars and workshops.
