After reviewing this issue at its July 13 meeting, the Ripon Common Council authorized city staff to resume garbage collection audits and enforcement, effective Aug. 2.

“We have taken a look at the complaints received, and we understand that more education and public relations may be required as we go along,” City Administrator Steve Barg said. “But this is an important program for the city, as we are expected to reduce our volume of solid waste going to the landfill and increase recycling collections, and also because this provides financial benefit to the city.”

Information on the materials accepted for garbage and recycling collections may be obtained at either City Hall or the Public Works Department building during normal business hours.
