A greenhouse for Crossroads and Quest Elementary Schools came one step closer to becoming a reality Monday night.

By a 4-2 vote, the Ripon School Board approved the greenhouse project, clearing the way for construction this summer. The greenhouse would be a 21-foot-by-48-foot structure run and operated primarily by students at the two charter schools.

But even with the approval, things still could fall through for the greenhouse if funding or other expenses go past budgeted amounts.

“We still have things that we have to work out, even with the OK,” Murray Park and Quest Elementary Principal Randy Hatlen said.
