Interested in joining the Ripon Common Council, and live in District 1?
Such individuals have just a couple more days to let City Hall know.
Otherwise, the one individual who has formally expressed interest in taking over for former Ald. Todd Elliott may, essentially, be handed the District 1 post.
Deadline to apply for the position is Friday at 4 p.m.
“[Bring in] something in writing — a letter of interest, or whatever they want to submit,” City Administrator Lori Rich said. “Nothing formal.”
All candidates for the position will be interviewed at the Tuesday, Sept. 12 council meeting, with a decision made that night.
The position became vacant after Elliott resigned his post due to a move outside the district.
That led to the Common Council soliciting interest from others within the district to become alderman for the balance of the first half of Elliott’s term — essentially, a six-month tryout period for the job.
