A large parcel of land with frontage on Ripon’s Mill Pond, the city’s only body of water, could be developed into another assisted-living facility, or a multi-family residence of some type.
Question is, will the current owner of the property do it, or will someone else?
Charlie and Gail Fakes of Fox Lake, owners of Jaystone Properties, have put a 21-acre parcel of land that includes 500 feet of Mill Pond frontage up for sale.
It’s the largest remaining parcel of land with frontage on the pond.
Asking price? $1.25 million.
But neither of the Fakes seem convinced they will sell it.
“I should have been there four years ago — that was the plan,” Charlie Fakes said.
“We have an assisted living in Beaver Dam, and just love it,” Gail Fakes said. “That is what we thought we wanted to put on it ...
“[Now], either we will develop it or sell it all as one parcel. We’re at an age where we’re possibly looking at retirement. We should have jumped in and done it when we bought the property, but then we got busy in Beaver Dam.”
