Main Street replacing downtown lights

Ripon Main Street will begin replacing the downtown Ripon skyline lighting system in the coming weeks.

The total cost to replace the system is approximately $15,000.

The existing system is more than 25 years old and in need of replacement, according to Main Street manager Craig Tebon.

The existing wiring and sockets are deteriorated from UV light and other weather conditions.

New LED energy efficient lights will be purchased to replace the system.

More than 3,000 linear feet of lights and approximately 3,000 LED bulbs are needed to complete the project.
