Local authorities have arrested a Ripon-area man who suffered three self-inflicted gunshot wounds Wednesday evening.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m., police responded to a town of Ripon residence regarding a domestic incident where a 35-year-old man was supposedly armed with a rifle.

While responding to the call, officers were advised that the man had fired several rounds outside the residence.

When he was taken into custody, officers discovered he had three self-inflicted gunshot wounds to his chest.

He was taken to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, but is expected to face charges regarding the incident.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate. Read more in the April 15 issue of the Ripon Commonwealth Press.
